James Allen was born in Kent, England.
James was born in 1844[1]. He is the son of James Allen and Esther Bradshaw.
He appears in the 1881 census with his family. His occupation was Waterman, and at that time he had five children with his wife Martha. The family also had a lodger William Terry who was a drapers assistant[2]
James died in Gravesend, Kent in 1923 and was buried in Gravesend Cemetery[3]
