Mary was born about 1682. Mary Allen ... She passed away about 1718.
From my Grandmother Brott's "Hayes Mead" manuscript (1942) she has noted:
"Born about 1672, died between April and October 12th, 1747. He [James Hayes]lived in Norwalk, and was named as the sole executor of his father's will. April 1st, 1703, at Norwalk, he married Mary Allen, daughter of Thomas Allen, deceased, of Burlington, New Jersey, and the latter's wife, Mary. the Widow, Mary Allen, married, second, Jonathan Stevenson, and third,after 1689, John Bouton Sr. Mary (Allen) Hayes, James' wife, died before April, 1747. His will is recorded in the Fairfield County probate Records, liber 1724-1749, pp. 429 and 430. It is dated April 1747, and proved December 1st,1747. To son Nathaniel is willed land at Smith Hills and Poplar Plain, meadow and sege at Canfields Island on the west side and the path leading to said island, 127 pound right in commonage in the left or upper division."
