He married Mary Willins on 22 Dec 1818 in Great Haseley, Oxfordshire, England. The witnesses were John Parsler and Ann Willins. [1][2]
The couple and son James emigrated to Madison, New York sometime before son Henry was born in 1839. In 1840 the family relocated to Dorr Township in McHenry County, Illinois where Thomas cleared timber to create a farm. He and Mary lived on the farm until he died at age 88 and she died shortly thereafter at age 86.[3]
Research notes
Thomas's surname is recorded as Allen in all official sources found to date but he appears to sign his name as 'Alling' on the marriage register.
