Biography

George Nicholson Allen married into the wealthy Slade merchant family, who were prominent in fishing and trade in Newfoundland, in the 18th and 19th centuries. He was himself a major part of the Slade family business, and was one of the executors of the will of John Slade, his wife's uncle.
