Biography

William was born in 1768. He was the son of Zachariah Allen and Lavina Jones. He passed away in 1844.

Birth

According to Lavina Allen's records, her father William was born in October 1768.[1] Earl Davis, in his book, gives William's birth date as 10 FEB 1769.[2]

Married Jane Hobson about 1792 in North Carolina, USA.

In 1839 Lavina Allen wrote: “William Allen & Jane his wife with their children Joseph & Lavina emigrated from North Carolina to Indiana In company with their son in law James Kiviett & his wife & child 4th mo 26 1829. Were six weeks on the way by waiting for company and visiting connections on the way traveled just about five weeks arrived in Morgan County IA 6th mo 6th same year”.
