Biography

Ardean was born about 1862 in Maine. He is the son of Charles Allen and Elizabeth Trask. In 1870, the family was living in Maine. Ardean had three siblings at the time - Marshall, Ferdinand and Sarah E. His father was a farmer.^[1] They were in Jay, Franklin, Maine, in 1880.^[2] The family had grown to six children, adding a daughter, Hattie, and a son, Oramandel.

He married Castella A. Thompson on 31 Dec 1885 in Jay, Franklin, Maine. His name was listed as Ardian M Allen on the record.^[3]

The only other census record found for an Ardean Allen was in 1910 in Massachusetts. That Ardean had a wife listed as Fannie. It is not known for sure if this is the same Ardean, although the year of birth (estimated 1863) and state of birth (Maine) are compatible.^[4]

He passed away about 1921. ^[5] If this is the same Ardean mentioned in the 1910 census, there is a memorial for him on Find A Grave listed as Ardine Allen. His wife is listed as Fannie A. Le Clair. Burial was in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts^[6]
