Elnathan Allen was born at Lancaster, Massachusetts on January 7, 1667 [7: 11m: 1666] son of Daniel and Mary (Sherman) Allen. [1][2]
He married Mercy/Mary Rice by about 1694, as their son Obadiah was born in January 1694/5. Mercy was born at Sudbury, Massachusetts on January 1, 1670, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Moore) Rice. [3][2]
They resided at Sudbury, Watertown and Hopkinton, [2]
Elnathan removed to Shrewsbury, where he was admitted to the church in 1730. [2]
He died at Shrewsbury on October 1, 1735, having been killed when thrown off an ox-cart. [2]
On Nov. 3, 1735, “Israel Allin husbandman and Amos Pratt husbandman with the free consent of Ann my now married wife and Mary Allin and Thankfull Allin spinster all of the town of Shrewsbury… all heirs to the estate of Elnathan Allin late of Shrewsbury deceased for… consideration of our love and good will unto our sister Elizabeth the now married wife of Edward Newton” deeded her property “excepting that part of it which is sett off… to our honoured mother Mercy Allin for her thirds.” Further, on Nov. 5, 1735, “Obadiah Allin of the town of Shrewsbury” acknowledged that he “received the full of my share and portion out of the estate of my honoured father Elnathan Allin late of Shrewsbury deceased” and released any claims toward “my brother Israel Allin or any of my sisters.” (Worcester Deeds bk.7;Pg.170-171)

Elnathan Allen of Shrewsbury, yeoman died intestate and on 5 November 1735, Edward Newton of Shrewsbury was granted the administration of his estate.[8]
