Robert Allender, 39 years old, died at about 8 o’clock at his home at 724 Union Street. His death was caused by dropsy (endocarditis) from which he had been ill for a few weeks. He was a laborer in a coal yard. He was known in the area and prominently identified in baseball circles.
He was the son of Moses and Mary (Knauss) Allender. He was survived by his wife Clara (Hilbert) and his children: Archibald, Harry, Robert and Dorothy; his sisters, Mrs. Joseph Muschlitz and Mrs. David Leibensberger; and a brother, Alexander Allender. He was buried 6/8/1915.
