Charles was born in 1884[1]in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.[2] At the time of the 1891 census, the family lived at 6 Grove Road and employed a nurse.[3]
He married Hilda G SIMMONDS in 1910 in Carlton Colville, Suffolk, England.[4] In 1911 the couple lived at 22 St Peter's Road, Lowestoft. Charles worked as an electrical engineer at the Lowestoft Corporation central station.[5]
