From Find-a-Grave website: Capt John Alley, son of American Revolutionary Patriot, Joshua Alley and Hannah Brown Alley, was the first settler of Alley's Bay, Beals Island, Maine. He was a sea captain and he arrived on the Great Wass Island in the mid-1820's and settled Alley's Bay in Beals, which was a part of the town of Jonesport at that time. On 27 June 1804, John married Tryphena Heath, in Penobcot, Hanover, Maine. Tryphena was the daughter of Revolutionary Soldier Eldad Heath and Lydia Bowden Heath.
