Thank you, Brent,

Clearly you located and corrected the invalid data problem. The merge went without a hitch. I see we share mitochrondrial DNA which we inherited from our great grandmother through our respective grandmothers and mothers.

Hi John, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Ireland, Scotland and England. I wanted to let you know we have a great new project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It includes our Scottish Clans Project and links to our Irish Roots Project They would be a great places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in both projects will be happy to help you in any way they can.

Thank you so much for joining WikiTree. Good luck with your research in 2015.

I have been researching my family genealogy for many years and have files of information from my father, grandfather and cousins interested in the genealogy of the Alley, Poole, Annear and Aitken families of PEI and formally of England, Ireland, France and Scotland. I am interested in sharing and collaborating with others who are interested in this research. Our family history is documented in the book the "Three Rivers" that documented the combined histories of the families that settled in the Brudenell, Cardigan and Montague Rivers region of PEI.

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
