On 15th July 1864 Lucy Platts Allgood. her sons, John and George and daughter, Jane sailed aboard the ship, General McClellan which left Liverpool, England for New York, United States, arriving on 23rd June 1864. The company then continued on to Wyoming, Nebraska, arriving on July 3rd. Most of the 802 souls on board ship had paid to go to Wyoming. ^[2][3][4] They came by rail as far as the Missouri River, then joined Captain Rawlin's company and walked to the Salt Lake Valley, arriving in the month of September 1864.

Death in Coalville, Summit, Utah, USA on 27th January 1919 from pulmonary tuberculosis. ^[5]
