"Mr. Allgood was educated in the public schools of Chepultepec and at Enterprise Academy. He taught school one year at Enterprise and one year at Arkadelphia. He was engaged in dairying and truck farming 1901-1906; Chief Clerk, L. & N. Railroad in Birmingham, 1907-1912; Fire Inspector for city of Birmingham, 1913-1914; Chief Clerk, Auditor's Office, 1915-1919; Chief Clerk, Department of Agriculture and Industries, 1919-1922; State Auditor, 1923-1927; State Treasurer, 1927. He was a Democrat, a Methodist, and a Knight of Pythias. He married Arminta F., the daughter of Capt. W. T. and Mary E. (Hyatt) Hood at Murphree's Valley on July 28, 1901."[5]
He married Arminta F. Hood on 28 Jul 1891 in Blount County, Alabama.[6][4][7] and the couple had the following known children:
William died 19 Jul 1933 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.[2][7]
