1918. Daisy's husband John's draft card has his residence on the Post Road in Cos Cob (Greenwich) and his occupation as machinist.[10]

1919, Aug 6. "Miss Evelyn C. Barrows, eldest daughter of Mrs. John F. Galvin, was married to Joseph F. Burnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Burnes, both of Coscob, today, at 9 a. m. in St. Catherine's Church, Riverside, by Rev. N. P. Coleman. The bride was gowned in white satin and georgette, with a hat to match, and carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Frances A. Galvin, a sister of the bride, wore pink georgette and carried a bouquet of pink asters. Jules Burnes, a brother of the groom, was best man. A reception was held after the ceremony, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Galvin, after which the couple departed on a trip to Massachusetts. They will reside at the Hub, Coscob. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Burnes were the recipients of many gifts. Among those present at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Burnes, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Galvin, Miss Frances Galvin, Jules Burnes, George McKenzie, Mrs. Frederick Caldwell, James Burnes, Mrs. Herman Oppy, Clarence Galvin, Herman Oppy, jr., Daisy Galvin, Frank Oppy, and James Burnes [Burns] of Stamford, and Mrs. Thomas Bracken, Mrs. William Cullen, Miss Josephine Cullen, Thomas Bracken, Mrs. William Roche, Robert Cullen, all of Bridgeport. Mr. Burnes returned from France a few months ago."[11]

1927, Sep 8. "Mr. and Mrs. John Galvin, with their daughter Daisy, and son, Clarence, have returned from a few days holiday at Waterbury and a visit with their son John, at Wallingford."[13]

1928, 1930. The Greenwich City Directory has, "Galvin John F (Daisy) mach h ns Post rd 2 e Orchard".[5]

1930, May 14. U.S. Federal Census. The Galvin family renting on Post Road in Cos Cob with radio set. Head of household John F. Galvin age 55, married at 24 yrs, machinist in factory; wife Daisy age 53 married 1st at 17 yrs; son John F. Jr. age 22; daughter Daisy age 15, bookkeeper in stationary store.[14]

1932, Aug 26. "Miss Dorothea Galvin of Port Chester spent the past two weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Galvin of 400 Post Road."[15]

1934. The Greenwich City Directory[5] has

1935. The 1940 Census has Daisy living with her daughter Daisy Santini's family in Fort Myers Beach, Lee County, Florida.[16]

1936, Dec. "Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burnes, their son, Joseph, jr., and nephew, Frederick Caldwell and Miss Annie Kenny, all of Cos Cob, left, Saturday for Fort Myers and Sarasota, Fla., where they will remain several weeks, visiting Mrs. Burnes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Galvin, sr., and sister and brother, Mrs. Godfrey Santini and Clarence Galvin, former residents of Cos Cob, who are making their home in Florida."[17]

1937, Aug 5. "Mrs. John Galvin, sr., accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Godfrey Santini, and granddaughter, of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., former residents of Cos Cob, were expected to arrive Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Galvin's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burnes and family of Valley Rd. [Cos Cob]"[18]

1937, Sep. " Mrs. John Galvin accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Godfrey Santini, and granddaughter, Irma, are expected to leave [Cos Cob], this week, for their home in Fort Meyers Beach, Fla., after spending the Summer here with relatives."[19]

1938, Jan. "John F. Galvin, sr., a former resident of Cos Cob, who makes his home now with a daughter, Mrs. James Burnes [Burns] of Stamford, recently returned from several weeks' visit in Florida with Mrs. Galvin, who is spending the Winter with another daughter, Mrs. Godfrey Santini of Fort Myers Beach. He also visited a son, Clarence, in Sarasota and a nephew, Frank Bracken, in St. Petersburg."[20]

1939 - 1947. The Fort Myers city directories list Daisy as a resident in Fort Myers Beach.[5]

1940, Apr 9. U.S. Federal Census. The Santini family owning a home in Fort Myers Beach, Lee County, Florida. 1950, Jul 13. Death of Daisy Sarah (Alling) (Barrows) Galvin at the Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida.[22]

1950, Jul 17. Burial of Daisy next to her husband in the Fort Myers Cemetery.[22][23]

Research Notes

Birth Place. Daisy's birth record states her birth was in New Haven. Her death certificate states her birth was in Hamden.

Residence. It appears Daisy made the switch to Florida residency before her husband John. It might be because John was working toward retirement at his job in Cos Cob before retiring and relocating full time to Florida.
