John Alling and wife Ellen (Bradley) Alling had a daughter Mary 23 Feb 1661. A history and genealogical record of the Alling-Allens of New Haven, Conn goes on to indicate she married ___ Gutteridge (Goodrich?).

Mary Allen was born to John Allen on 25 Feb 1661/2 in New Haven, Connecticut.^[1]

New England Marriages Prior to 1700 By Clarence Almon Torrey, pg. 310 shows marriage of John Goodrich ( -1728) & Mary [Alling/Allen] (1662-); ca 1682?, no issue; Guilford, CT. This is substantiated by a Mary Goodrich, wife of John grave stone with the appropriate dates.

In conflict, The genealogy of John Lindsley (1845-1909) and his wife Virginia Thayer Payne (1856-1941) of Boston, Massachusetts indicates that Benjamin Lindsley marries Mary Allin, daughter of John and Ellen (Bradley) Allin, widow of Bartholomew Goodrich.

The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume 57 reiterates that Ellen Bradley's daughter Mary, born 25 Feb 1661, married 1) Bartholomew Goodrich and 2) ___ Linsley.

So, it is unclear who Mary, daughter of John and Ellen Alling, married.

Then, the issue of who did Bartholomew Goodrich actually marry arises. It has already been suggested Mary Allin^[2], but Mary Bartholomew^[3], daughter of William Bartholomew III and Mary Porter (Johnson) Bartholomew, also exists. New England Marriages Prior to 1700 lists Bartholomew Goodrich (1647 (no)-1696) marrying Mary Bartholomew (1668- ); (no) 1684?; Guilford, CT/Branford, CT. As of Nov 2018, Mary Bartholomew's profile has illogical marriages.
