Hazel was born in 1925. She was the daughter of Leo Allinger and Martha Zurcher.
In the 1930 U.S. census, Hazel is living with her parents in Ridgway, Pennsylvania with five of her siblings. [1]
In 1940, she is living at the same place with her parents and three of her siblings.[2]
She passed away in 2003. [3] [4]
Hazel A. (Peachie) King, 87, of Monterey Avenue, Ridgway, died Friday evening, Aug. 30, 2013. She was born in Ridgway on Nov. 3, 1925, daughter of the late Leo and Martha (Zurcher) Allinger. She was married to Jack W. King who preceded her in death in July of 1973. Mrs. King graduated from Ridgway High School in 1943, attended West Penn Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1946. She was employed as a private duty nurse for several years and worked at the Elk County General Hospital for many years, retiring in 1980. She was Past Worthy Matron of Elizabeth Early Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Ida Rebecca Shrine. She is survived by four children, Jonathan King of San Francisco, Calif., Bruce (Kathy) King, Thomas (Barbara) King, and Susan (James) Nelson, all of Ridgway; two stepchildren, Jack C. King of Pittsburgh and Marilyn MacKendrick of Charleston, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Blythe (Jeffrey) Brunner, Julie (Craig) Kasmierski, Kerrie (Michael) Cowan, Susan (Jeffrey) Baird, Jeffrey (Leanne) Nelson, Rachel King, Caleb (Jessica) King, Nathan King; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia (Calvin) Levis of Lancaster; a brother, Donald Allinger of Appleton, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Urbancic, Grace Devitt, and Dorothy Langin; and a half-brother, William Allinger. At Mrs. King's request the funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ridgway Public Library. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
