Mary is the child of John Allison and Lee Maxwell. [1] Mrs. W.A. Ellis died at her home at Baxter Saturday, Feb 10, 1940. Mrs. Ellis who before her marriage was Miss Mary Allison, was born Feb 4, 1867. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are her husband, W.A. Ellis, of Baxter, Lt. Co. A.M. Ellis of Knoxville, two daughters, Miss Fanny Ellis of Baxter, and Mrs. Ida Hughes of Gainesboro; two grandchildren, Terry Ellis of West Point, N.Y. and Mary Ann Ellis of Knoxville. Two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Whiteaker of Nashville and Mrs. Joe Genty of Lubbock, Tex., and many others who mourn her passing. Funeral services were conducted at the Baxter Methodist Church on Monday, Feb 12th by Rev. J.D. Harris. Burial in the Johnson Cemetery near Gainesboro.
