• looking at census, in 1820, when William would have been about 10 years old, there was only one guy in and about Greeneville County that had a son listed= ROBERT. And William named a son Robert. Also, William's son is given a middle name sometimes as Bolling. There were Bollings living close to the Allisons in 1820-1840, so, likely William's wife was Caroline Bolling, and a Robert Bolling in 1820 Greeneville census lists a daughter the right age. And there are James and William Bolling and William and Caroline Allison had sons named James and William.
