OK, the first issue is the birth date of March 18, 1788 for William Allison-7138. What is the source and who were his parents? If no source can be located, the birth date is suspect, and may need to be rejected.

I have added sources for William Allison-3105 born on August 4, 1774, and baptized at Guinston Presbyterian Church. William's wife, Janet Gemmell, is identified in the sourced York County History.

I researched every early Allison family in York County, PA. I did not find a William Allison born on March 18, 1788. The difference between 1788 and 1774 is 15 years. For a merge there are major problems.

Allison-7138 and Allison-3105 appear to represent the same person because: part of duplicated family - birth dates are different, so sourcing is needed, limited sourcing on profiles, nothing found online, 'quotes' from states sources would help, but discrepancies in dates can be included in profiles, duplicated spouse. They are the same person
Who was Allison-7138? My research indicates that Allison-3105 was the following:

William Allison, b. 4 August 1774 (Pennsylvania); baptized on 4 September 1774, at Guinston, in York County, Pennsylvania; m. Janet Gemmell/Gemmill (her grandfather was William Gemmell/Gemmill). This William was a son of Gavin (1716-1782) and Jean (Wallace) Allison.

William Allison-7138 could not have been married to Janet Gemmell also. Is a correction needed to William Allison-7138?

Sources are needed for both sources to determine where birth years came from. Duplicate profiles with same spouse are probably duplicate if birth year can be determined since that is the only discrepancy.
