Note N1197Robert was born in Harlem Springs, Lee Township, Carroll County, Ohio. He was show on the 1870 census in Vermillion Illinois living in household of William Allman born in Ohio about 1837. The 1913 Missouri death certificate for Robert James Allman showed place of death in Newton County and parents names James Allman b. Pennsylvania and Loyola Rumble/Rumple b. unknown. Informant was Allison W. Kelley of Rocky Comfort. Robert James Allman was buried in Rocky Comfort. R.J. Allman was mentioned in Shoal Creek Association 1907 History of (Baptist) Churches, as a past superintendent of Sunday School. His brother E. B. Allman was also mentioned.
HOWEVER, Robert birthdate is different on death certifica and on census. DC has Oct 20, 1852 in Ohio. Census record has NOV 1851. The death date for his mother found (where?) was March 1852, so he was probably born in 1851. The family history in Wheaton Echos doesn't have his dob or dod. This appears to be the correct Robert Allman. It all fits with the Barnes research on the Allmon family of Ohio. The informant on Robert's death certificate is Allison W. Kelly. He is probably Allison Woodville Kelly (b1861-d1946 MALE) who is buried in Rocky Comfort Cemetery. How are they associated? Wife of Allison Kelly is America Aubrey Could Elizabeth Autrey and America Aubrey be sisters? Only one letter different in the names..... Hmmm.
There is quite a bit of information, including an Allman family history and photos written by Rebecca Allman Roskob in the book "Wheaton Echos" 1907-2007, written by Ralph and Betty Lamberson. However, Rebecca apparently doesn't know their family history further back that Robert J Allman, and isn't sure about the relationships with other Allmans living in the area. She mentions the other Allman families, J. M. Allman, J. T. Allman, George Allman that are on the 1909 land ownership map, and states that the relationships are unknown. She quotes land purchase records by Allmans in early Wheaton history.
