OBITUARY MR. F. G. ALLNUTT The late Mr. Frank Gustavus Allnutt, of Kudardup, who died suddenly on his farm on 15th ult., at the age of 84 years, was closely associated with the early settlement of the Bridgetown and Karridale districts. A son of John Allnutt who established the Nelson Grange estate near Bridgetown, he was in his younger days an all-round athlete and one of the best rough riders in the State. He served throughout the Boer War with the Australian Mounted Bushmen—his regimental number was "9"—and later took an active part in public affairs. He was a member of various road boards for over forty years, being a foundation member of the Balingup Board, besides serving on the Nelson and Augusta-Margaret River Boards. For many years he was employed by Millars Timber & Trading Co. at Karridale and was also interested in the R.S.L. The funeral, which took place at Karridale, was largley attended. It was conducted by Rev. V. P. Howells, the pall-bearers being Messrs. W. Hillier, E. Brockman, and E. Willmott (representing former road board members), G. J. Shervington (representing the Augusta-Margaret River Road Board), J. Jackson and W. Ellis (R.S.L.), H. Kemp and P. Pratt. The casket was carried by Messrs. L. Pratt, G. Challis, J. Foster, G. Foster, C. Hollingsworth and J. Cooper.
