Christina was the daughter of Sterling Vaughn and Trish Carnes. She married Frederick Vaughn on 16, Feb 1844 in Henry County, Georgia. By 1860, they were in Cleburne County, Alabama. They had 12 children. In the late 1890s, the family decided to move to Texas. Christina died on 28 Dec 1897, about 3 months after the Cleburne entourage arrived in Texas. She is buried in Creekmore Cemetery, Cass County, about 5 miles from Omaha, Texas.
