Lewis B or H Brooks was listed on census but the data doesn't match some of the data. The Brooks name was in census but believe the censor taker thought they said "We're all Brooks" I do no that my grandfather listed Susan Amanda Roland as his grandmother and his Uncle Wesley mentioned that his father was James Wesley Allsbrooks. As you not there are many spellings of the names, that too is strange.
The Allsbrooks/Alsobrooks is my dead end.

In the Delinquent Tax listing for Louisiana for 1900 Joseph and Mandy ALSOBROOKS are listed as delinquent in taxes. At that time they were in fact in TX which occurred between 1880-1900.
The burial of the Allsbrooks are in Naraway Cemetary and Old Union Cemetary in Angelina County and cam be found in Polk, Harris and Trinity Co, TX/
Note some of the family moved on to Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Montana as well. I couldn't find mom's cousins and some of her uncles and through the internet, several members of our family contacted me.
All sources were in Kurth Memorial Library in Lufkin, Angelina Co, TX microfilm as well as in Rootsweb and Ancestry.
I can not locate their marriage license so all I know is that they were married ca 1858. I feel Mandy got married in Louisiana but I am can not locate anything on record. In fact, want to state again, not sure she married Lewis as Mandy's husband was listed in the census 3 times with different names. The last entry has Lewis as his name but another researcher said his name was William. My grandfather said his grandfather was James but he also had another grandfather named James Wesley Glass. Grandpa told me he was name after his grandfather but I'm not sure which one.
There is little know of Lewis by my family. Not even if his name was really Lewis or even Allsbrooks. In Louisiana tax list the family was listed as Alsobrooks but in the census listed as Osbrouk, then Brooks. He was not in the 1880 census but nobody knows why. He is our dead end.
