There were a number of Henry/Harry Almonds in St Helens in 1911 who might have married in 1914, or he could have been living elsewhere then.
Henry probably didn't die in WWI - he's not in the St Helens Roll of Honour, and there's no obvious match for him in CWGC deaths, although there are a few H Almonds who might conceivably be him. Margaret's buried in a purchased grave with no-one else buried in it, and Gladys in an unpurchased grave. FindAGrave doesn't currently have a gravestone photo.
One strong possibility for Henry in later records is the following, who in 1921 has 4 living children under 16, but only 2 are on the census with him:
In the 1921 census Henry Almond (age 27), Labourer General Export Dept, was the married head of household at 33, Brook Street, Whiston, Lancashire, England.[6]

Maria Almond Wife F 27 Prescot, Lancashire, England Home Duties
John Almond Son M 5 St Helens, Lancashire, England

This is the man in 1939:
In the 1939 register Henry Almond (age 45), Previously Timer Below General Labourer, was recorded as married at 37 Brook Street, Whiston, Prescot, Whiston R.D., Lancashire, England.[7]
Henry Almond Married M 17 May 1894 Previously Timer Below General Labourer
Maria Almond Married F 23 Sep 1893 Unpaid Domestic Duties
Norah Parr (Almond) Single F 20 Oct 1920 Pepper Ladder Electrical Cable Maker
Maria Mannion married Henry Roberts in 1912 in Prescot; Maria Roberts married Henry Almond in 1919 in Prescot.
There was also a Henry James Roberts, who had a Catholic marriage late in 1917 in Prescot district at St Mary Lowe House church which may or may not have been his first; but he does seem to have used his middle name in many of his records.
