James Gould Almy Jr. was born 2 July 1798 in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas to James Almy and Martha Bowles.
Leonard Rustat Almy and his brother, James Gould Almy Jr., were together left one-third of their maternal grandmother's estate in her 1799 will. Elizabeth Ellis Bowles, of Nassau, Bahamas wrote " .. I give and bequeath to my sons Thomas BOWLES and Tobias BOWLES the sum of Five shillings each .. I give devise and bequeath to my son Nicholas BOWLES of the Island of New Providence .. One third part of all my Estates .. I give Devise and bequeath to my Dearly beloved Daughter Mary Newton WOOD .. One-third of All my Estate .. I give devise and bequeath the Other remaining Third part of my Estate .. to my Grandsons Leonard Rustat ALMY and James Gould ALMY.."
A dearth of records suggests that James Gould Jr. may have died in his infancy.
