Biography

John Edward Alphonso was known as Andrew.^[1][2] Sometime between 1939 and 1945 he changed his surname to Austin.^[3][4] He was also known as Jack.^[5]

He was born 18 March 1896 in Wavertree, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.^[2][3]

Marriage

Andrew Alphonso and Catherine Durkin were married 6 February 1920 in the registration district of West Derby (Liverpool, Lancashire), England.^[6][7]

John Edward Austin died 21 October 1950 at The Royal Infirmary, Liverpool, Lancashire, England and was buried 25 October 1950 at Allerton Cemetery, Liverpool.^[5][10] He was 54 years of age.^[12]

Grant of Administration was made 5 December 1950 to his widow Catherine Austin.^[10]

Research Notes

• Not found in 1901 census.
• Surname change to AUSTIN and forenames John Edward or Andrew are confirmed by annotation in the 1939 National Register.^[3]
