Bertha was born in 1898. She was the daughter of David Alsbrooks and Mary unknown. She passed away in 1954.

• Daughter of David Wilson Alsbrooks and Mary Emma Geddings Alsbrooks of Wedgefield area, Sumter County, South Carolina.

There is found a variety of name spellings from Alsbrook to Allsbrooks. At the time of the 1900 Federal Census, David W Alsbrooks was a widower with children living at home. David Andrew (brother of Bertha), who reported the death of Bertha, was listed as one of the children. The obituary for their father lists the names of children from both of his wives. A sister Eunice Estelle Alsbrooks McCall is Memorial #110114485, also buried at Bethel.

Further research reveals the burials of her parents at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Sumter County. Her father was married again, after the death of Bertha's mother. His second wife was Susan Elizabeth McCall Memorial #132537392, the mother of Clifton C; Alva W; Robert L; George Ferdinand; Clarence Leroy and Mrs. H. D Troublefield.
