James was born in Albany New York in 1830. He was found in the 1860 US Census for West Troy Ward 2 living with wife, Loretta and 3 children, James, 5; William, 3 and Mary A., 2. [1][2] He was drafted for the US Civil War in 1863 [3]and was wounded in 1864 at North Anna River Virginia[4] He married Loretta about 1854 and they had at least 7 children. He died in 1912[2]
