Baptised 7 November 1811 at St. Leonard the Less, Samlesbury. While William was baptised in Samlesbury he was probably born in Ribchester as records indicate that William and Elizabeth were permanent residents of Ribchester. Elizabeth may have gone to Samlesbury for the baptism to have her father present,
