William Alston was christened 25 Feb 1608/9, Sible Hedingham, Essex, England. The son of John Alston and Anna Cracherood. William wrote his will on 5 July 1693, it was probated 5 May 1699, Sible Hedingham, Essex, England.[1]
On the 28th of September 1637, at St. Mary's, in Bocking, Essex, England, William Alston married Maria 'Mary' Greene.[2][1][3]
The Register of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials at St. Margaret's Toppesfield Parish show that all their children were christened there. [4]
Children
Susanna Alston, christened 25 September 1641. She was referred to as Susanna Blower in her father's will.[1][5]
William Alston, christened 5 February 1642/3. He was married to Anne Chapman. William was mentioned in his father's will.[1][4][6]
Jemima Alston, christened 12 February 1643/4, she was married to Thomas Firman. Jemima and Thomas are mentioned in William Alston's will of 1693.[4][7][1]
Joanna Alston, christened 21 September 1646, died before 1693. [4]
Solomon Alston, christened 18 July 1648. He was mentioned in the 1693 will of William Alston.[1][4][8]
Elizabeth Alston, christened 15 May 1650, died before 1693. [4]
Robert Alston, christened 24 May 1652. He married Mary "Unknown". He was the executor of his father's 1693 will. Robert was buried 15 May 1707.[1][9]
William's Will
William's wife Mary died before William made out his will 5 July 1693. He mentions five of his children: Robert, Susanna, William, Solomon and Jemima. He includes one son-in-law: Thomas Firman who married Jemima, and he mentions their daughter Mary. William made son Robert the executor of the will. His will was probated on 5 May 1699. The complete will is found on The Kings Candlestick. Note: Susanna's surname was Blower in the will, but William didn't mention her husband.[1]
