Biography

Samuel C. Alter was born 9 July 1825 at Plum Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States of America, a son of Jacob Alter and Jane Bratton.[1][2][3]

Samuel lived with his parents at Plum Township in 1850.[4]

Samuel married Nancy J. Beale in 1854.[1]

In 1860, Samuel and Nancy and their household lived at Fawn Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.[5]

Samuel and family lived at Harrison Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in 1870 and 1880.[6][7]

A widower, Samuel lived with his son William and family at Harrison Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in 1900.[8]

Samuel died 10 February 1905 at his home near Freeport, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania,[9] and was buried at Freeport Cemetery.[2]
