Jewish name: Raisel
[My great-grandmother's given name was "Rosa Alter," not "Raisse Aller" (as it was transcribed in the her daughter's entry in the marriage index cited). Her Jewish name was "Raisel". In the US, she always went by "Rosa" (her name on her gravestone) to distinguish her and her daughter (also named "Rosa"), who went by "Rose." In the 1900 US census, they were both listed as "Rosie." This from descendant Passell-7 in email to Gahn-22 on May 14, 2016]
"Rosza" is the Hungarian spelling of "Rosa." "Raisel" is Yiddish for the Hebrew name, "Rachael."
