Scone Advocate – 25 September 1903
IN MEMORIUM – ALTERATOR
In loving rememberance of our dearly beloved son James Alterator, who departed this life at Scone on 23rd September, 1898, aged 29 years.
‘Tis hard to break the tender cord,
When love has bound the heart;
‘Tis hard, so hard, to speak the word,
We for all time must part.
Dearest son, we have laid thee
In the peaceful grave’s embrace;
But thy memory will be cherished
Till we see thy heavenly face.
Inserted by his sorrowing parents, James and Eliza Alterator

IN MEMORIUM – ALTERATOR
In sad and loving memory of our dear brother, James Thomas, who died 23rd September, 1898, aged 29 years.
Ah, brother, we have missed you
Since you have passed away,
Your kindly care and helping hands
We miss from day to day.
But we know you are at rest,
In that bright home above;
To meet you there, we’ll do our best,
Through Christ’s redeeming love.
Inserted by his loving sisters Jane and Ida Alterator.

Scone Advocate – 28 September 1906
IN MEMORIUM – ALTERATOR
In loving rememberance of our dearly beloved son, James Alterator, who departed this life at Scone on 23 September 1898, aged 29 years.
Dear son you are dead and gone
Though but eight years today
How bleak and dreary seems the time
Since you were called away
The home, it seems so desolate
That once you made so bright
You took with you my joy and hope
And turned my day to night
Goodbye, dear son, goodbye
Sweet thoughts of you I keep
And many a silent tear I shed
While others are fast asleep
Inserted by his sorrowing parents, James and Eliza Alterator
