Biography
Laura Etta was born in 1883, the daughter of Simeon Althouse and Esther Alcock.
She married William Tweedle in 1901. Their marriage record reads:
- William Tweedle, 24, residing and born in Saltfleet, bachelor, farmer, son of John Tweedle & Charlotte Pott, married,
- Laura Etta Althouse, 18, residing and born in Saltfleet, spinster, daughter of Simeon E. Althouse & Esther E. Alcock,
- Witnesses: Wm. Bradt, Tweedside, and Elma F. Althouse, Tweedside,
- On September 4, 1901, at Tweedside, Ontario.
Together they had the following children:
- Oscar Wilbur, 1903 - 1978
- Lorne Elgin, 1908 - 1996
- Audrey M., 1919 - 1942, adopted
Laura died in 1971.
She was buried at Tweedside Cemetery, in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
