DNA Tested
Gerd Altmeier's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Gerd or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Gerd:

Gerd, thanks for pointing out that Johann Konrad Altmeyer and Johann Konrad (Kuntz) Meyer are different men. Which one married Barbara Riegel?

Hi Gerd, I hope all is well and that you are enjoying WikiTree. Thank you for all of your recent contributions!

Helpful Tip: wherever the last name at birth (lnab) is unknown, we use a specific name of "Unknown" with capitalization and all. All cases of "N_N_" and things like that should be replaced with "Unknown", and it is what should be used on gedcoms before upload.

If you ever need a hand at all please contact me, or even better Matty Gerrard who posted below. We're always here to help.

I’m Matty. How are you? Need any help?

Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Please look at how to write a biography and how to put sources in.

Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700’s ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Check out How To Use WikiTree. It’s a great step-by-step guide.

And I’m here to help too, just ask!

Thank you for volunteering Gerd,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree. If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created. Our Mentor Team is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any. Welcome! Gilly

Hi! I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
