Biography
Johann Traugott Altus was born at Bethel on 8 November 1871.[1] and baptised in the Bethel church.[2]
Johann worked on his parents farm at Bethel.[2]
On 20 April 1899, he married Nandine Lydia (Lydia) Doecke at the Steinthal Lutheran Church in Bethel.[3] They had two children.
They lived on the same farm for the rest of their lives. He died at Riverton Hospital on 17 May 1941 and was buried at Bethel Cemetery.[2]
