Biography
Alvin Wesley Alvord, born 20 Oct 1822 at Wilmington, Vermont, was the fourth child of Julius Alvord and Sally Doty [1],[2].
He married first, 17 Sep 1848 in Stockton, New York, Electa Rowena Todd [b. 25 Oct 1827 @ Stockton, New York, daughter of Bela and Lucy (Hemenway) Todd; d. 23 May 1888 near Santa Paula, California]. They had 3 children, born near Jamestown, New York:
- Julius Bela Alvord, b. 10 Nov 1849
- Augusta Alvina Alvord, b. 31 Aug 1851
- Jessie May Alvord, b. 10 May 1856; married Henry Rouse Brinkerhoff
His first wife died in 1883; subsequently Alvin married second, 3 Apr 1886, Carrolyn (Fellows) Alvord (1835-1898), former wife of Joseph Miller Chapman).
Alvin Wesley Alvord passed away in Los Angeles, California, 19 Sep 1887 [per his grave marker]. His grave is in Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, Santa Paula, Ventura County, California, USA [3].
