Helen Lansing Alvord, born 21 Mar 1852 in Syracuse, New York, was the first child of Charlotte Curtiss (Merrill) Alvord (1828-), the second wife of Thomas Gold Alvord (1810-1897).

Note: Care should be observed not to confuse this person with Helen Amanda Alvord, born 25 Apr 1857 at Chateaugay, New York, who married Frank Adelbert Farnsworth.
