Biography
Louisa Metcalf Alvord, born 31 Aug 1809 at Bolton, Connecticut, was the second child of Phebe (Buell) Alvord (1787-1857) and Saul Alvord (1781-1842) [1].
She married 13 Mar 1832 Josiah Champion Gilbert [b. 26 Feb 1810 @ Gilead, Connecticut, son of Peyton Randolph and Anna (Porter) Gilbert; d. 26 Jul 1889 @ Gilead, Connecticut. They had 2 children, born at Gilead:

- Henry Champion Gilbert (27 Jun 1839 - 4 Oct 1842)
Louisa Metcalf (Alvord) Gilbert died 16 Nov 1847 @ Gilead, Connecticut. Her grave is in Gilead Cemetery, Hebron, Tolland County, Connecticut, USA [2].
