Biography

Adelia Alvord, born 20 Sep 1809 near Lockport, New York, was the fifth child of Martha (Bromley) Alvord (1781-1824) and Thaddeus Alvord (1781-1874). No evidence has been put forth to demonstrate that she had a middle name.

She married 14 Apr 1833 @ Pontiac, Michigan, Pliny Atherton Skinner [b. 30 Dec 1808, Henderson, New York, son of Elias and Abigail (Atherson) Skinner; d. 16 Jan 1893, Burton, Michigan]. They had 2 children, born at Burton, Michigan:

In 1850, this family was recorded in Flint Township, Genesee County, Michigan [1]. At the 1860 census they were in Burton, a newly organized township, also in Genesee County, where they remained until at least 1870 [2],[3]. Then, in 1880 they were enumerated in Flint, Michigan [4]. At the times when they lived, Michigan was an emerging frontier, forged from woodland wilderness into relatively modern townships and municipal sectors.

Adelia (Alvord) Skinner died 21 Jan 1883 at Burton, Michigan, a small city just east of Flint.

Alvord-51 and Alvord-504 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents and same death date and same place of birth.

I believe that the first name is Adelia with Diademia as the middle name.
