He married 4 Apr 1862 @ Geneseo, New York, Philena Adelaide Schenck [b. 13 Mar 1842 @ Avon, New York, daughter of Lucinda (Landon) Schenck; d. 2 Jul 1885, Geneseo, New York]. They had one child by adoption:
This family was enumerated in the 1875 New York State census, in Geneseo. Residing with them was his mother-in-law, Loucinda Gillet, age 62 [1]. These are potentially important details for tracing the identity and ancestry of Philena Adelaide Schenck. Probably her mother is represented by a grave marker in Old Livingston County Poorhouse Cemetery, Geneseo, Livingston County, New York, USA, who died in August 1885 [2].
According to the Alvord genealogy, Daniel Parke Alvord lived on the old homestead about two miles out of Geneseo, N. Y. In his later years he retired and moved into town, where he resided until his wife's death, when he removed to Mich. and spent the rest of life with his brother, Samuel Tallman Alvord. He was a farmer.
Daniel Parke Alvord passed away in 1886 at Adrian, Michigan. His grave is represented to be in Temple Hill Cemetery, Geneseo, Livingston County, New York, USA [3]. No grave marker is depicted.
