Biography

Calvin was born October 17, 1850 in Havelock, New Brunswick. He was a son of Jesse and Isabella Alward, who were farmers in that area.^[1]

He married Mina E. Keith, a daughter of James Keith of Havelock, on June 3, 1885.^[2]

After his marriage, he moved to Salisbury where he was farming in 1901 and 1911.^[3][4]

He appears to have moved to California in the 1920s when some of his children also moved there. He was living with his son Owen in Glendale, Los Angeles County, in 1930.^[5]

Calvin passed away in Feb 10, 1934 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California^[6][7]and was interred at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.^[8] He also has a memorial at the Greenhill Cemetery in Kings County, New Brunswick.^[9]
