Edwin Amass was born in Suffolk, England.

Edwin was born in Debenham, Suffolk, England on 4th December, 1835, to William Amass and his wife Mary Shearing.[1] He was baptised on 13th March, 1836 in Debenham, Suffolk.[2]

The 1841 census records Edwin living with his parents and siblings at Gostling Hall, Debenham, Suffolk. [3]

The 1880 United States census for Macoupin, Illinois, records Edwin living at Brighton, ED 106, Macoupin, IL, United States with wife Elizabeth and son Edwin T Amass (2). [8]

The 1900 United States census for Macoupin, Illinois, records Edwin living at ED 48 Brighton Township Brighton vill., Macoupin, Illinois, United States with wife Elizabeth and children Edwin T (22), William (20), Mary (16) and George (13). [9]

The 1910 United States Census for Macoupin, Illinois, records Edwin living at Brighton, Macoupin, Illinois, United States with wife Elizabeth and children Mary (25) and George (23).[10]

The 1920 United States Census records Edwin and Elizabeth are now living at Chicago 27, ED 1593, Cook, Illinois, United States with their widowed Son-in-law.[11]

Edwin passed away on 24th January, 1924 in Brighton, Macoupin, Illinois. He was buried on 26th January, 1924 in Brighton, Macoupin, Illinois. [12]
