Biography

Amberson, John Davis, according to his Confederate pension applications, Amberson claimed he was a private in Company I of the 19th Alabama Infantry; he claimed he was wounded 28 May 1862 at Corinth, Mississippi; pension was approved.

According to her Confederate widow's pension application, Edna reported her husband died 30 Jun 1894; application witnesses included Mace C. Brindley of Blount County. According to monuments in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, John D. Amberson was born 31 Dec 1830 and died 30 Jun 1894; Edna E. Amberson was born 10 Jan 1833 and died 2 Dec 1909.
