On 21 September 1740 in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway, Else Maria Amble married Povel Moltzau. [1] On 14 November 1740, Else Maria and Povel's son, Jochum Friderich, was christened, also in Bergen.[2] Povel and Else Maria lived in Greenland for a number of years. It seems that only two of their children (both born in Greenland) survived: Jochum born 1752 and Hans Christian, born in 1750.
After the death of her husband, Else Maria married Peder Jensen Egede, a parish priest, in 1760. [3] Peder Jensen Egede, the son of Jens Povelsen Egede, was the first cousin of Paul Moltzau. He also was stationed in Greenland, as a missionary, returning to the homeland in 1756 due to scurvy.[4]
