Phillip was born Phillip Ambler in 1848 Manston, Whitkirk, Leeds, Yorkshire [1] and baptised Phillip Ambler on 28 May 1848 Seacroft, St. James, Yorkshire the son of William Ambler (miner) and Ann of Manston. [2]
