He was the son of John Ambler and Huldah (Fairchild) Ambler. 27 APR 1758 Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut
He served 5 1/2 years in the Revolutionary War as an artillery artificer - he was discharged in Apr 1783
He married Rachel Munson on 15 Apr 1783 at Danbury, CT - parents of Polly, Huldah & Irel (male)
They lived in a "small house against the hill" next to the North Main Street Cemetery.
He is buried at Old North Main Street Cemetery, Danbury, Fairfield, CT
