Lucy (Ames) Carter was born in Nunney, Somerset, England.
Lucy was baptised at Nunney, Somerset on 22 August 1779. She was the third of ten children of Thomas Ames and Elizabeth Croome. [1]
Lucy married George Carter from Horningsham, Wiltshire at Witham Friary on 31 March 1799. It was the first marriage for both parties. Lucy signed with a mark. The witnesses were Thomas Ames (her brother or father) and John Butler, the husband of her sister Elizabeth. [2] No children from the marriage have been found.
George died at Witham Friary and was buried at Horningham, Wiltshire on 1 December 1827. [3]
At the 1841 census Lucy (60) is living in Batcombe with Mary Hughes (25). [4]
Lucy died at Batcombe was buried at Horningsham, Wiltshire on 28 June 1843. [5]
