Thomas was baptised at Nunney, Somerset on 22 April 1781. He was the fourth of ten children of Thomas Ames and Elizabeth Croome. [1]
Thomas died at Frome, probably on 20 January 1836 and was buried at Witham Friary on 25 January 1836 aged 54, but the burial record says 55. [2]
