Biography

Beulah was born 22 May 1895 in Delmar, Clinton County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lyman C Ames and Mary J Stine.[1]

In 1900 she was living in Brookfield Township, Clinton, Iowa.[2] The household included Lyman Ames 44, wife Mary J Ames 40, daughter Laura E Ames 14, daughter Bertha V Ames 12, daughter Zella Ames 10, daughter Beulah Ames 5, daughter Florence Ames 3, son Ota Ames 2 and laborer Walter Howell 21. Lyman and Mary had been married 14 years. Mary was the mother of 7 children, 6 living. Lyman was a farmer.

In 1910 she was living in Delmont, Douglas, South Dakota.[3] The household included Lyman Ames 54, wife Mary Ames 50, daughter Zella Ames 19, daughter Balie (sic) Ames 14, daughter Florence Ames 12, son Ocenile Ames 11 and son Harold Ames 9. Lyman and Mary had been married 2 years. Mary was the mother of 8 children, 7 living. Lyman was a general drayman.

Charles Richards and Beulah May Ames were married 23 Feb 1914 in Douglas County, South Dakota.[4]

In 1920 she was living in Interior, Jackson, South Dakota.[5] The household included Charles E Richards 33, wife Beulah M Richards 24, daughter Mildred E Richards 4, daughter Richards 3 and daughter Iona M Richards 2. Charles was a farmer. James Doty lived next door.

In 1930 she was living in Zion, Lake, Illinois.[6] The household included Charles E Richards 44, wife Beulah M Richards 34, daughter Mildred Richards 14, daughter Lucille Richards 13, daughter Iona Richards 12, daughter Verna Richards 9, son Floyd Richards 8 and son Ivan Richards 2. Charles was filling orders for a lumber company.

In 1940 she was living in Zion, Lake, Illinois.[7] The household included Charles E Richards 54, wife Beulah M Richards 44, son Floyd W Richards 18, son Ivan E Richards 13 and son Donald W Richards 9. Charles was proprietor of a retail feed and hay store. Floyd was a stock boy at a wholesale bakery.

She died in 1959, probably in Illinois and is buried in Mount Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, Lake County, Illinois.[8]
